Golf Fitness Program

It is recommended that prior to initiating this program, you consult with your physician to assess if you have any special health concerns.

Golf is a very challenging and sometimes frustrating sport, requiring considerable amounts of athleticism to play well. Frequently golfers will say that they play golf to get exercise; rarely do they exercise to improve their game and play better golf. Anyone who plays golf realizes how exhilarating it is to play well and how frustrating it can be to play poorly.

There are many things that can “go wrong” in a golf swing. There is a huge degree of error associated with having the center of the club face (the sweet spot) impact the ball flatly at high velocity. Even slight deviations from perfection at impact will result in poor results. Golfers frequently try to fix their game by buying expensive equipment to correct inherent problems with their body. This rarely works. While properly fitted equipment is essential, the most important piece of equipment is the golfer’s own body!

The Golf Fitness Program addresses restrictions in strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, posture, and balance by targeting the specific muscles and joints used in the golf swing. Working with a golf professional, you can turn your body into an optimal golf machine, improving your performance in a safe fashion and avoiding injury. Sports performance enhancement training will improve the following:

  • FLEXIBILITY- Increasing the body’s ability to have full mobility (i.e. full range of motion about a body joint) will enable a smoother swing. This will result in less degree of error at impact and reduce golf related injuries – especially to the lower back and shoulders.

  • STRENGTH – Increasing your strength will result in additional distance with each shot and is key in performing an optimal golf swing. It especially will help with shots that require compromised postures, such as side hill and down hill lies.

  • ENDURANCE – Increasing endurance will increase accuracy and consistency at impact. Smaller muscle groups, which fatigue faster than larger ones, are more exacting in their control. Golfers need to be in shape to play 25 holes – not 18!

  • POSTURE – Improved posture will lessen the chance of golf related injuries, particularly to the back and vertebrae. Properly aligned joints will function better than mal-aligned joints. Optimal golf posture will enable greater spinal motion and improve your overall game!

Improve your game by improving your body’s ability to perform better.

  • Improve your athletic ability.

  • Increase your endurance.

  • Increase your strength.

  • Improve your flexibility.

  • Increase your consistency.

  • Increase your enjoyment.
