Orthotics
Back
to Orthopaedics
Orthotics are orthopedic support devices designed to stabilize the body’s foundation and correct alignment of your feet, adjusting a variety of biomechanical foot disorders. When one joint moves abnormally, movement of many other joints are impacted; the entire skeletal structure is stressed when foot imbalance exists. By supporting and repositioning the heel, arch, muscles, ligaments, tendons and bones in the feet, pain can be alleviated and normal movement restored.
What Help Do Orthotics Give?
- Relieve back pain (When the feet support the body correctly and move properly, less strain is placed on the hips and back.)
- Relieve pain in the ball of the foot by helping to distribute the body’s weight more evenly across the entire sole.
- Relieve knee pain
- Relieve arch pain where the arch has collapsed or rolls inward
- Relieve leg pain by reducing stress on the muscles and tendons in the foot
- Relieve heel pain and plantar fasciitis by eliminating pronation, thus allowing the heel to strike the ground in the right manner and cushion the impact
- Relieve pain caused by running, walking and other athletics
- Relieve pain from diabetic neuropathy
- Relieve pain caused by arthritic and normal aging conditions by supporting weakened and degenerating structures
- Relieve tired, aching and burning feet
- Correct differences in leg length so this inequality does not contribute to lower back and leg pain
