Massage Therapy
What is Massage Therapy?

Massage therapy is a therapeutic, hands-on, manipulative procedure the helps relieve pain, improves circulation and joint motion, loosens tightened muscles, tendons and ligaments, facilitates healing, breaks down scar tissue, relieves stress and tension, and helps reduce re-injury.

Conditions Benefiting from Massage Therapy

Massage therapy has been used since antiquity to relieve discomfort and heal; it is one of the oldest therapies known to man. A variety of forms of massage have been applied by ancient Greeks, Chinese, Egyptians, and Romans. Today, complementing traditional medical treatment, massage therapy benefits the following conditions:
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Back pain
  • Reduced range of motion in a limb as a result of injury or illness
  • Sports injuries, including strained ligaments and muscles
  • TMJ (Temporamandibular joint dysfunction)
  • Chronic and temporary pain
  • Circulatory problems
  • Headache
  • Myofascial pain
  • Stress related body tension
  • Cerebral palsy and other neurological debilitating disorders
